Frequently Asked Questions
Diamond Peel Dermabrasion is a non-surgical procedure that gently removes dead skin cells on the uppermost surface of the skin.
Using gentle abrasion from hundreds of miniature diamond grains in a small stainless steel head, the treatment removes layers of dead skin cells from all areas of your face and body. Elastin and collagen fibres are simultaneously stimulated by light suction, which also disposes of old skin cells. The result is visibly smoother, softer, firmer and more radiantly youthful skin.
Our trained therapists work with several different sizes and grains of diamond encrusted heads and will specially select the correct combination to suit your skin. This will allow them to target all types of skin irregularities all over your body.
Microdermabrasion is beneficial for the treatment of a variety of conditions including:
- Fine lines and wrinkles including delicate areas around the eyes
- Sun damaged, uneven and thickened skin
- Acne scarring – a safe and effective form of acne treatment
- Enlarged pores and dull skin
- Congested skin
- Uneven skin tone
- Stretch mark reduction
A course of treatments is recommended for optimum results, although you will see immediate results after just one treatment. Indeed, many people have a ‘one off’ treatment before an event like a wedding or special occasion to ensure their skin looks its best.
Yes – microdermabrasion can be used for practically all skin types on all areas of the body and face.
Initially we would recommend a series of treatments carried out at 4 weekly intervals. After this, treatments are usually performed every 7 to 10 weeks.
After the treatment, your skin may feel slightly tight with mild redness and it is important that you use a good moisturiser with SPF. These effects normally subside within 24-36 hours of treatment.
