Frequently Asked Questions
Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, even those with sun damage, fine lines or very dry skin and dull skin. It is not recommended however if you have an inflamed skin condition, such as active acne (microdermabrasion would be a better option). Dermaplaning can however be used to reduce the appearance of acne scars once your skin has healed.
No, dermaplaning will not make your hair grow back any thicker or darker. Although it may seem initially to appear a bit thicker, this is because the end of each hair has been cut by the scalpel, rather than tapering off. In fact it will be the same texture and thickness as before and will grow at the same speed.
There’s no downtime after dermaplaning, but some slight redness can sometimes occur. You could have the treatment carried out during your lunch break if you wish.
As with many skin care treatments, you will need to wear a high SPF afterwards to protect your skin from the sun as it will be especially sensitive to UV damage.
The results can last up to four weeks, so your glow will last all month long. We recommend monthly treatments to maintain the results.
